Groups, Ratios and Supervision

Children are placed in one of five classrooms, according to their age and development. Moving to an older class is based on many factors; we need to consider enrolment, ratios, and the child's development.

Maximum class size of 8 with two teachers.

12 months to less than 19 months – one staff to 4 children

17 to 26 months – Maximum class size of 10 with two teachers.

17 months to less than 19 months – one staff to 4 children

19 months to approx. 26 months – one staff to 6 children

2 to 3 years – Maximum class size of 12 with two teachers.

2 years to less than 3 years – one staff to 6 children

3 to 4 years – Maximum class size of 16 with two teachers.

3 years to less than 4 years – one staff to 8 children

4 years & older – Maximum class size of 20 with two teachers.

4 years & older – one staff to 10 children

OOSC / JK Groups & Ratios

4 Years by December 31st of the year of commencement.

Ratio 1:10 children, max group size 20. 

4 Years+

Ratio 1:10 children, max group size 20. 

Grades 1 + 2

Ratio 1:15 children, max group size 30. 

Grades 3+

Ratio 1:15 children, max group size 28.
